Rudy was born in Northern Manitoba after his parents immigrated to Canada. Like many new immigrants, his parents made up for any financial and educational shortfalls with a strong work ethic, working seven days a week for most of their life after starting a business. Although they worked hard, his parents also made their share of financial mistakes. A little bit of advice would have gone a long way for them, and it is this sense of responsibility that motivates Rudy every morning when he comes into the office. He holds a strong sense of conviction to protect those who need protecting, and he firmly believes that you can change the world, even for one person, with the application of advice, attention and mindset shift.
Rudy completed his Bachelor of Commerce at the UBC Sauder School of Business and has over twenty years of industry experience in the investment industry. Surprisingly, he has been with the same group of colleagues for his entire career since finishing school, a rarity in this day and age. A student of business, he is fascinated with the entrepreneurial mindset that creates something from a vision, and he loves dealing with business owners.
Rudy is the primary lead advisor for the operations in the Vancouver office of Mindset Wealth. He is both investment and insurance licensed, and he serves clients across British Columbia, Ontario and the Yukon. Although he works with many types of clients, his passion is working with young families, university professors, small business owners and professionals.
For the past several years, Rudy has served as the president of the Vancouver chapter of the North American Association of Asian Professionals, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and cultivating leadership in Asian professional communities across North America. In honour of the path that his parents took to build a life in Canada, he also commits time to work with a few young, low-income families who need advice in restructuring their financial lives.
He is married with two young twin boys, and the family resides in Vancouver’s beautiful Killarney neighbourhood. He is a lifelong fan of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team, so, by definition, he is an extremely loyal (and patient) man.
Rudy can be reached at the Vancouver office by email at rudy.chung@iaprivatewealth.ca or by phone at (604) 895-3473.
